Why Camille’s Prime made the SteakMap list
Mt. Pleasant is a college town of about twenty-five thousand people, and Camille’s Prime runs a four-cut board that would not embarrass a room in Birmingham or Detroit.
The whole list is deliberately short: a 32oz tomahawk, a 20oz bone-in ribeye, a 16oz New York strip and an 8oz filet mignon. Four steaks, each with its weight stated, and nothing padding the section. A kitchen that carries a 32oz tomahawk in a town this size is making a statement about what it intends to be.
The detail worth knowing
Every steak arrives with grilled asparagus and hollandaise included, which is unusual — most steakhouses at this price sell the steak bare and let the sides add thirty dollars to the bill. Here the plate arrives complete, and the additions are genuinely optional.
Those additions are the ambitious part: roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, a lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, U-8 scallops or king crab legs, any of which can go on a steak or an entrée. U-8 means under eight scallops to the pound — genuinely large, diver-grade, and not something a small-town kitchen carries casually.
The sides
Shareable and priced accordingly: crispy sherry brussels, boursin whipped mashed potatoes, butter-poached carrots, a broiled mac and cheese you can add lobster to, creamy mushroom risotto, parmesan truffle fries, garlic orzo and roasted cauliflower.
The room is attached to Mountain Town Station and open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, with a Sunday brunch.
Menu prices
As published on Camille’s Prime’s own menu, August 2026: 32oz tomahawk $84, 20oz bone-in ribeye $64, 8oz filet mignon $58 and the 16oz New York strip $50. Shareable sides run $8 to $10, and adding lobster to the mac and cheese is $14.
