What Ocean Prime is
Ocean Prime is Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ upscale seafood and steak concept, and it takes both halves seriously — Prime beef on one side, an elaborate raw bar and hand-rolled sushi on the other, all made from scratch in house.
What to order
The house signatures are the jumbo lump crab cake and the white truffle caviar deviled eggs. The wine list carries Wine Spectator recognition.
The thing everyone remembers, though, is the Berries and Bubbles cocktail, which arrives billowing dry-ice smoke. It is theater, it is unapologetic about it, and it works.
The Washington room
This location is at 1341 G Street NW, in the downtown blocks between the White House and Metro Center — about as concentrated a lobbying-and-law address as exists in the country. In practice that makes it a weekday power-lunch and client-dinner room, and a much easier reservation on a Saturday than a Tuesday.
It is a short walk from the National Theatre and Capital One Arena, so it does pre-show business too.
Prices
Ocean Prime does not publish per-location pricing online, so SteakMap has no verified DC figures to quote. Beyond the Prime grade, the restaurant does not publish aging detail, and we make no claim about it.
