Why Bocca Grande made the SteakMap list
Bocca Grande has been a Canal Fulton fixture since 1991, and it is on this list as an Italian steakhouse rather than a steakhouse that happens to serve pasta — a distinction that matters, because the two kitchens buy beef differently.
The menu names its grades. The 8oz sirloin filet and the 14oz strip are both listed as Prime, and the house strip is described as Black Angus aged. Naming Prime on a menu at this price point is unusual; most kitchens charging under thirty dollars for a steak quietly serve Choice and say nothing.
The cuts
Three beef options, which is the right number for a kitchen with an Italian menu behind it. The 8oz Prime sirloin filet comes on a sizzling platter in its own juices. The Bocca strip steak is Black Angus, aged, served with a side. The 14oz Prime strip is the top of the board, described on the menu as full of flavor and tender, served on a sizzling skillet.
Alongside the beef sits the reason a lot of people go: the barbecue ribs, slow-cooked in house and finished under the broiler for their bark, sold by the half or full rack.
What to expect
Beef and pork entrées come with soup or salad and a choice of side. The rest of the menu is genuinely Italian — mussels and shrimp over linguine, garlic shrimp in butter and wine, baked scrod in white wine and lemon, salmon with spinach and asiago. There is a 25oz cajun-grilled pork chop for anyone who wants scale without beef.
Menu prices
As published on Bocca Grande’s own menu, August 2026: 14oz Prime strip steak $46, Bocca strip steak $29, 8oz Prime sirloin filet $25, the 25oz Bocca pork chop $30, and the barbecue ribs $20 for a half rack or $30 for a full.
