Why Culprits made the SteakMap list
Culprits is a modern steakhouse rather than a traditional chophouse, and the reason it is on this list is the kitchen behind it. The restaurant brought in James Beard-nominated chef James Fox as its Culinary Creative in 2021, specifically to build a menu around unusual ingredients rather than the standard cuts-and-sides format.
That is an uncommon arrangement. Most steakhouses hire an executive chef to execute a fixed template; bringing in a nominated chef to design against it is a different intent.
Where it is
Culprits sits at 100 East Sheridan Avenue, on the downtown edge of Oklahoma City near Bricktown — walking distance from the ballpark and the arena, in the middle of the city’s densest run of bars and restaurants.
It is operated by Provision Concepts, a local group rather than a national one.
What to expect
Expect an inventive menu and a room that leans contemporary. If you want a classic dark-wood Oklahoma steakhouse experience — and this is cattle country, so there are good ones — this is not that. It is the version that assumes you have eaten a lot of steak already.
Prices
Culprits does not publish a machine-readable priced menu, so SteakMap has no verified cuts, weights or prices to quote. Grade and aging are not published either, and we make no claim about them.
Browse every dry-aged steakhouse in Oklahoma.
