What Gin Gin’s is
Gin Gin’s Food & Spirits sits on Summer Avenue NW on Grand Rapids’ west side, and it is built as much around the room as the food — an open kitchen, leather booths, sapele wood paneling, moody lighting and a courtyard out back.
Sapele is a West African hardwood related to mahogany, and paneling a dining room in it is an expensive, deliberate choice. It signals what the place is going for: a bar you would happily spend an evening in, that also serves a real steak.
The food
The menu is American classics done properly — premium steaks, fresh seafood and handmade pasta. The cocktail program leans vintage, with handcrafted and classic drinks rather than a modern mixology exercise.
The combination of a steak menu and a genuine bar program is less common than it should be. Most steakhouses treat the bar as a waiting room.
Prices
Gin Gin’s does not publish its menu in machine-readable form, so SteakMap has no verified cuts, weights or prices to quote. Grade and aging are not published either, and we make no claim about either.
