Why Mancy’s Findlay made the SteakMap list
The Findlay room states an aging period on its house steak, which almost no menu at this size bothers to do: the 14oz New York strip is cut from the center of the sirloin and aged 24 days. The menu calls it their most popular steak, and the description explains the cut rather than just naming it.
The filets get the same treatment. The menu specifies heavy tenderloins, aged to bring out more flavor and sweetness than the usual filet, offered as a 7oz petite or a 10oz barrel cut. Aging a filet is unusual — tenderloin is already tender, so the only reason to do it is flavor, which tells you what the kitchen is optimizing for.
The big cuts
Two steaks here are built for people who came hungry. The Big Ribeye on the Bone is a 30oz Certified Angus Beef cut served with sauce bordelaise, and the porterhouse is a 24oz described plainly as two of the best cuts on one bone.
Between them sits the aged Delmonico cut ribeye, a 16oz CAB steak described as well marbled. Certified Angus Beef is a branded program sitting above USDA Choice, and Mancy’s uses it consistently rather than as a one-cut headline.
The Tournedos Oscar are beef medallions with blue crab, asparagus and béarnaise — the classic preparation, still done properly.
What to expect
Steaks come with the side item of your choice. The kitchen ranges well beyond beef: a 14oz long-bone Berkshire pork chop with bourbon and Nueske’s bacon jam, coriander-crusted salmon, swordfish with sweet potato purée and broccolini, shrimp and grits with andouille and cheddar grits, and cold-water twin lobster tails from Tristan Island.
